Ayesha Curry has finally responded to Drake ‘name-dropping’ her in one of his songs three years ago.
Drake doesn’t hold back from name-dropping celebs in his music, from Maya Jama to sampling Kim Kardashian’s voice, he’s done it all. Now, Steph Curry’s wife is revealing how she felt when she heard her name pop up for the first time.

Ayesha Curry reacts to Drake ‘name dropping her’ in Race My Mind
Drake and the 34-year-old actress both grew up in Toronto and although she’s a big fan, it looks like she didn’t expect the rapper to mention her on his 2021 hit, Race My Mind.
“Ayesha, what was your reaction when Drake included the line in his song, Race My Mind about you?” she was questioned on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live!
Hesitating, the actress eventually said: “I think I was dumbfounded, it’s like one of those things,” she said slightly laughing.
“But that’s like our family, so I think I was appreciative that they respect me so much that they feel that I’m a great wife. So I was appreciative,” she concluded.
In the song, on his Certified Lover Boy album, he raps the lines, “Posted that pic you sent me, it wasn’t recent enough/How I’m supposed to wife it? You not Ayesha enough.”
She’s not the only member of the Curry family who’s been lucky enough to gain a shout-out in the rapper’s songs.
Her NBA star husband, Steph Curry also received a mention in the 37-year-old’s hit 0-100, as he famously raps: “I been Steph Curry with the shot/Been cookin’ with the sauce, Chef Curry with the pot, boy/360 with the wrist boy.”
Drake gets name-dropped by Kanye – again
The Toronto-born rapper isn’t the only one dropping names. Kanye’s at it again on Instagram, and once again Drake is in the firing line. The pair’s complicated relationship goes back 15 years, and it looks like there’s no sign of it settling down anytime soon.
Whilst going on a rant about Adidas, after hitting number 1 in the charts, Ye wasn’t done there as he continued to take swipes at others, including Drake.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, the Touch the Sky rapper said (of Drake): “And it’s f*** Drake for taking Durk right at the beginning of the Vultures role out.”
The dad of four was referring to Drake bringing Lil Durk to some of the final dates of his It’s All a Blur – Big as the What? tour, after he appeared on Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s title track in Vultures.
